This Privacy Policy explains how The Hybrid Earner ("we," "us," or "the Site") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you visit hybridearner.com or subscribe to our newsletter.

The Hybrid Earner is published by The Hybrid Earner LLC, a Florida limited liability company. References to "we," "us," and "the Site" in this Privacy Policy refer to The Hybrid Earner LLC. For data protection purposes, The Hybrid Earner LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Email address. When you subscribe to the newsletter or request the Tax Optimizer, you provide your email address. Subscription is handled by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform.
  • Optional name. If you choose to provide your first name during subscription, we use it to personalize newsletter emails.
  • Email replies. If you reply to a newsletter or send us an email, we store the content of that message to respond to you.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4). If you accept cookies, we collect anonymized data about how you use the Site: pages visited, time on page, referring site, approximate location (country/region), device type, and browser. IP addresses are anonymized.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (IONOS) maintains standard server access logs including IP address, user agent, and timestamps for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used for marketing.

Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization enabled, which truncates IP addresses before they are stored. We do not enable Google Signals or any Google Analytics feature that ties analytics data to a Google account.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the newsletter and free resources you subscribed to
  • Respond to your email replies and inquiries
  • Understand how readers use the Site so we can improve content and user experience
  • Detect and prevent abuse or security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your information. We do not share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not run third-party advertising on the Site.

3. Cookies and tracking

The Site uses Google Analytics 4 cookies, which are set only after you affirmatively accept the cookie consent banner. The relevant cookies include:

  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish unique users (retention: 14 months)
  • _gid — Google Analytics cookie used to distinguish users (retention: 24 hours)

You can decline cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent.

The Site does not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or cross-site tracking. Strictly necessary cookies (such as those required to remember your cookie consent choice) are not subject to consent under most privacy laws.

This statement covers cookies set by The Hybrid Earner on hybridearner.com. When you click a link to an external site — including a link to one of our affiliate partners — that destination site may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We do not control cookies set on other sites.

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion — request deletion of your information
  • Opt-out — unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email
  • Object to processing — including objection to analytics tracking (decline via the cookie banner)

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete that information, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.

California sensitive personal information (CPRA): California residents have the right to limit the use of "sensitive personal information" as defined under the CPRA. The Hybrid Earner does not collect sensitive personal information as defined — we do not collect Social Security numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, account credentials, health, racial or ethnic, or religious data. No "Limit Sensitive Personal Information" link is required because we do not collect SPI.

EU/UK residents (GDPR): The legal bases for processing your personal information are: (a) consent (newsletter subscription, analytics cookies), (b) legitimate interest (server logs for security), and (c) legal obligation (compliance with applicable law).

6. Data retention

We retain your newsletter subscription information for as long as you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we retain your email address for 90 days on a suppression list to prevent accidental re-subscription, and then we delete it (Beehiiv may retain it longer per their own retention policy). Email replies you send us are retained for as long as the conversation is active and for up to 24 months thereafter. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months. Server logs are retained for 30–90 days depending on our hosting provider's defaults.

7. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at andrew@hybridearner.com and we will delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all site traffic and Cloudflare's security infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted via the newsletter or a banner on the Site.
